Laura Kenny

The cyclist has announced her retirement, following a career which took her from a Hertfordshire club to being a British record-breaker.

The 31-year-old has won five Olympic gold medals and had been expected to compete at the Paris Games this summer.

The news comes a year after Kenny, 30, suffered an ectopic pregnancy and 14 months after she suffered a miscarriage.
