Ian Blackford

First elected in the SNP wave at the 2015 election, he became Westminster SNP leader in 2017 and was regarded as an ally of ex first minister Nicola Sturgeon.

There were calls for Nicola Stugeon to be suspended from the SNP.

Mr Flynn will replace Ian Blackford with immediate effect and appear at PMQs on Wednesday for the first time after defeating Alison Thewliss for the top job.
