Great Exhibition Of The North

Organisers of the Great Exhibition of the North reveal a huge rise in visitor numbers to major venues in the first month of the event.

The line-up for this summer's 80-day festival includes The Kaiser Chiefs and Postman Pat.

Newcastle City Council will use the money to sweep the streets, remove dog mess, erase graffiti and cutback overgrown shrubbery.
