The midwife-led unit at Eastbourne Hospital was closed for births on 87 days last year, according to data obtained by ITV News Meridian.

The midwifery-led service and homebirth service at Eastbourne were both suspended during the pandemic. 

The Eastbourne Midwifery Unit will be closed for labour care and births until the end of January 2024.
