Heartbreaking photo of five puppies callously dumped in a cage in a Salford street this week shows the sad reality of an abandonment crisis, says the RSPCA.

The Cat Welfare Group say four kittens were found and taken to their rescue centre to be treated, but one had to be put to sleep.
