Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

William Jackson, from County Durham, has been recognised for supporting his family in the care of his younger brother Louis, who has muscular dystrophy.

Alex Johnson founded the charity Joining Jack 12 years ago after her son, Jack, was diagnosed with the muscle-wasting disease Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

'Joining Jack' was set up for Jack Johnson, 15, who was diagnosed with DMD in 2011. It raises awareness of the condition and funds research into treatment.
