Christmas Tree

The giant redwood at Cragside is twice as tall as Antony Gormley's Angel of the North and has been decorated with lights an entire kilometre long.

Royal Collection Trust staff have prepared the historic castle, embellishing the State Apartments with Christmas displays.

The Sitka spruce, which stands at 41ft and weighs three tonnes, was selected from 150 million trees by experts at Forestry England.
