Christmas Tree

Royal Collection Trust staff have prepared the historic castle, embellishing the State Apartments with Christmas displays.

The Sitka spruce, which stands at 41ft and weighs three tonnes, was selected from 150 million trees by experts at Forestry England.

The tree was lit last weekend as Santa Claus arrived, but local residents have expressed disappointment at the lack of lights on it.
