Ted Rutland, who is 100 years old, took part in the D-Day landings.

The snake, named Lavender, appeared in a neighbour's garden on Monday after being reported missing from a property in Blandford Road, Chilwell, on 13 July.

A joint fire and police investigation is now taking place in Nottingham to establish the exact cause of the fire.
