A pod of more than 30 bottlenose dolphins followed a wildlife photographer on a boat near Bempton Cliffs.

RNLI volunteers were greeted by a surprise welcome party when they took to the water for a training exercise - a pod of dolphins.

Researchers estimate the pod is less than half the size of most coastal bottlenose dolphin populations.

David Holt and Jim Ozanne were on a boat off the coast at Llanbedr in Gwynedd when four bottlenose dolphins swan up to the vessel.
