Emergency services have cordoned off Benedict Street in Bootle after an 'explosion' destroyed the front of a house.

Merseyside Police were called at around 1.10pm on Monday 4 November following reports of a possible grenade inside the boot of a Ford Fiesta car on Strand Road.

An second 'unexploded bomb' has been removed and is going to be detonated.
