Big Butterfly Count

Organisers of the annual Big Butterfly Count have said this summer was the worst on record and are calling on the government to take action.

Last summer hundreds in the region took part and this year organisers are hoping even more will do the same as butterfly numbers are the lowest they've seen. .

There were 5,526 butterflies spotted across Cumbria last summer.
