The West Bank town would traditionally be packed with tourists, instead, its streets are deserted and shops are shut, writes ITV News' Rachel Younger.

Restaurants, hotels and souvenir shops are closed. The Christmas tree lighting service limited to a small group of authorised people, as will church services.

The thumb-sized piece of woods is thought to be about 1,400 years old.
