October is Black History Month, but schools in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland are under no obligation to include it in their curriculums.

Businesses closed and people largely stayed away from the city centre despite planned protests ending peacefully at the weekend.

Anti-racism protesters turned up at sites expected to be targeted by far-right rioters - some singing "there are many, many more of us than you".
