Five animal rights protesters were convicted after dye was poured into the Grade I listed fountain.

Two men from Animal Rising were seen pasting an image of Wallace from animated series Wallace and Gromit over the King's face.

The pair were found guilty of wilful obstruction of a highway following a trial at South Sefton Magistrates’ Court.
