Corbyn joins unions to urge Labour voters to back remain
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has pleaded for his party's supporters and trade unionists to vote Remain in the EU referendum in order to safeguard and extend the rights of ordinary workers.
In a show of unity by the Labour movement, Mr Corbyn joined members of his shadow cabinet and trade union leaders in an attempt to win over the party's wavering voters.
Mr Corbyn, whose efforts so far in the campaign have been criticised as lukewarm, said Labour would be making "the strongest case we can" for a Remain win on June 23.

Brexit 'would not affect funding for British institutions'
Groups that receive funding from the European Union such as farmers and universities will not lose out financially if Britain votes to leave the EU, the Vote Leave campaign has said.
Campaigners maintained that British institutions would still receive funding, but directly from the British government instead of the EU.
Leave campaigner Priti Patel MP said leaving the EU would enable Britain to take back control of funds administered by Brussels in the first instance.
"There would be more money to spend on our priorities," she said.
The Remain campaign, however, insisted that there would be less money to spend because Brexit would make the economy smaller.
Ms Patel's comments come after Jeremy Corbyn gave a speech at the Labour In for Britain event in London today, urging the public to vote to remain in the EU on June 23.
Corbyn refutes claim that UK sends EU £350m a week
Jeremy Corbyn has refuted the Vote Leave campaign's central claim that Britain sends the EU £350 million every week.
The Labour leader cited the UK Statistics Authority's statement that the claim was "misleading".
"When they say misleading, they mean downright dishonest," Mr Corbyn said. "It's an outright lie and they know it."
Mr Corbyn pointed out that the Leave campaign was forced to repaint the bus.

Corbyn: Remaining in EU will help UK challenge TTIP
Remaining in the EU would enable Britain to challenge the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) more effectively, Jeremy Corbyn has said.
Speaking at the Labour In for Britain event, he said: "I want to challenge what TTIP is about and, as France has pointed out, we can oppose TTIP more strongly if we're part of the European Union to help stop it, and what it will do - not just to our public services, but the public services all across the continent."
Leaving EU could cause 'full-blown NHS staffing crisis'
Leaving the EU could cause a "full-blown staffing crisis" within the NHS, a student midwife has said at the Labour In for Britain event.
Emily Maclean said: "Every day, Britain's babies come safely into the world thanks to the first-rate care of midwives from Europe.
"Trust me the NHS needs these people. They bring a wealth of experience, and they've taught me a lot. We shouldn't gamble with the NHS."
Corbyn: Staying in the EU will protect workers' rights
Remaining in the EU will protect the rights of British workers, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has said.
Speaking at a gathering of Labour Party and TUC members in London, Mr Corbyn said: "Staying in the EU gives us the opportunity to defend and extend the rights of people at work, gives us the jobs that we need and the exports to that we must fulfill as a country to the rest of Europe."
