"There are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.

"But if you just focus on the work, and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you are going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world."

Swift had another spat with Kayne West this week after he claims it was him who made her 'famous' in his latest song of the same name.

Ed Sheeran flew the flag for Britain at the Grammy Awards scooping Best Song for his hit Thinking Out Loud.

The flame-haired singer was presented with his award by music legend Stevie Wonder, who joked no one else on the stage could read the card as it was in braille.

Wonder then delivered a serious message telling the audience: "I just want to say we need to make everything accessible to every person with a disability."

Sheeran was hugged by his friend Taylor Swift, who was also nominated in the same category for her hit Blank Space, when the winner was announced.

He thanked his parents, saying: "They have flown over the past four years to come to the Grammys and every time they go: 'Maybe next year!'

"If you would have told my 11-year-old, eight-year-old, any age, that I would have received an award from Stevie Wonder I'd have been chuffed, so thank you very much."

It was the second award of the night for Sheeran who also scooped Best Pop Solo Performance for Thinking Out Loud.
