Prince George steals the show at Trooping the Colour

It was the Queen's official birthday today but Prince George stole the show on just his second public appearance.

The toddler joined his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to watch the traditional fly-past of aircraft.

Trooping the Colour: Queen saluted by 1,000 soldiers

The Queen was saluted by more than 1,000 soldiers today at this year's Trooping of the Colour.

Accompanied by Prince Philip and Prince Charles, the Queen watched the soldiers as they marched down Horse Guards parade as part of her official birthday celebrations.

Later the Queen was joined by other family members, including Prince George and his parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as she waved from the balcony of Buckingham Palace and watched the traditional aircraft fly-past.

Prince George has made his first appearance on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to honour the Queen's official birthday.

The prince wore the same outfit his father, Prince William, wore for Trooping the Colour in 1984, Kensington Palace revealed.
