A family source said Brown's overall condition had not changed and no decisions had been made to take her off life support.

She will now be given air through a hole in her throat, indicating she is not expected to make a recovery in the near future.

Brown, who is 21, is fighting for her life after being found face down and unresponsive in the bath at her home in Atlanta.

Police are treating the case as a criminal investigation.
