Fifty Shades of Grey stars 'overwhelmed' at premiere

Fifty Shades of Grey stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson said the film's premiere in London was ''crazy" as thousands of fans greeted the actors ahead of the first screening of the film in the UK.

Speaking to ITV News on the 'grey' carpet, Johnson, who plays submissive Anastasia Steele, said being involved in the film was "kinda wild".

Dornan, who plays Christian Grey, said the premiere was "full on" and he was excited to be involved in the project as he couldn't wait to play the "intense and complicated" character.

The film is expected to be a hit at the box office after it pre-sold more than £1 million in tickets.

Domestic abuse campaigners target Fifty Shades film

Star of the Fifty Shades of Grey film, Jamie Dornan, is attending the premiere in London.

Campaigners have held a protest at the UK premiere of 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.

The group, representing '50 Shades Is Domestic Abuse', held banners and balloons near the red carpet outside the Odeon Leicester Square in central London.

Natalie Collins set up the campaign two-and-a-half years ago as the three books in the Fifty Shades series became hugely popular.

Asked what message she wanted to give to the stars of the new film, she replied: "We want to say that these books and this film is promoting abuse and it is disappointing that they would want to be part of that, they would want to be benefiting from and capitalising on what is essentially domestic abuse."
