A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Liverpool on suspicion of planning acts of terrorism.
Counter-terrorism officers have now concluded their searches at five addresses in Liverpool and St Helens following "intelligence received", police said.
A force spokesman reassured the public and said there is no current threat or evidence of an imminent attack.

Police have concluded their search of five addresses in Merseyside as part of an ongoing anti-terror investigation.
A 31-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism remains in police custody.
Officers from the North West Counter Terrorism Unit and Merseyside Police seized a number of items from the addresses - which are linked to the individual - and will now be subject to further investigation.
"The NWCTU would like to make it clear that the businesses searched were done solely due to connections with the man arrested," a spokesman said.
They reiterated there is no current threat or evidence of an imminent attack.

The silver car was parked near a property on Prescot Road in Liverpool that counter terrorism police and officers from the Merseyside force have been searching since this morning.

Officers from the North West Counter Terrorism Unit and Merseyside Police are searching addresses at View Road in Rainhill, St Helens, and Prescot Road and Holt Road in the Kensington area of Liverpool.
The searches are expected to last several hours and possibly days, police said.
