Man dies after he is shot with Taser by police
A man has died after he was shot with a Taser by police responding to reports of a house burglary.
Staffordshire Police said officers discharged the weapon after being called to an address in Audley Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, just after 1am.

Staffordshire Police said that a man who died after he was shot with a taser became "unresponsive" when he was taken back to a vehicle.
Officers, who were responding to reports of a burglary, said the occupants were not at home at the time, but police found a man inside. After a taser was discharged, the man became "unresponsive". Despite treatment by paramedics he died, police said. A detailed investigation is under way at the scene, which remains under a police cordon.

An incident which saw a man die after he had been shot with a Taser by police has been referred to the police watchdog.
Staffordshire Police said the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) had been notified, as a matter of course, after the incident at a block of flats in Newcastle-under-Lyme near Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, just after 1am.

A man has died after he was shot with a Taser by police responding to reports of a house burglary.
Staffordshire Police said officers discharged the weapon after being called to an address in Audley Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, just after 1am.
A force spokesman said the occupants were not at home at the time, but police arrive to find a man inside.
He said: "During the incident, a Taser was discharged by officers and the man was taken to a police vehicle."
The man then became "unresponsive" and, despite treatment by paramedics, he died.
