War memorials get listing upgrade for Armistice day
Six war memorials across England are being given upgraded listing statuses to coincide with this year's Armistice day celebrations.
Four memorials have been given the highest possible Grade 1 listing, while two more have been upgraded to Grade 2*.
The memorials which have been chosen for upgraded listing status are the Guards Memorial, Horse Guards Parade, Westminster, the Birmingham Hall of Memory, The Response War Memorial in Newcastle, the Port Sunlight War Memorial in Wirral, the Lewes War Memorial, East Sussex, and The War Memorial in Norwich.

Remembrance services were held across the country, with the Queen leading the main commemorations at the Cenotaph. This year the ceremonies also mark 100 years since the beginning of the First World War, as Rebecca Barry reports.

Prince Harry leads tributes on behalf of Queen in Kandahar
Prince Harry led tributes on behalf of the Queen at a remembrance service in Afghanistan today, the Ministry of Defence said.
The Prince flew into Kandahar where he joined remaining British troops for a service at the base, which included a silent vigil to the more than 450 British servicemen to have been killed fighting the Taliban.
He laid a personal wreath and gave a reading before lining up with fellow servicemen and women for The Last Post and Reveille played by musicians from the Royal Artillery Band.
During his brief visit, the prince also met with British servicemen and women from 31 squadron of Norfolk-based RAF Marham.
