The three-month suspended sentence given to former BBC Radio 1 presenter Dave Lee Travis is to be reviewed by the attorney general's office.

The 69-year-old was sentenced on Friday after being found guilty of indecent assault for what was described as a "unprovoked and terrifying assault" on a TV researcher. A spokesperson for the Attorney General said:

I can confirm that the sentence handed to David Griffin (Dave Lee Travis) has been referred to the Attorney General's Office under the unduly lenient sentence scheme.
