Death of G.R.L. singer Simone Battle ruled a suicide

The death of G.R.L. band singer Simone Battle has been ruled a suicide by hanging.

The cause of death was determined two days after the 25-year-old was found dead in her West Hollywood home, Los Angeles County Coroner's Lieutenant Fred Corral said.

Battle became known through her performances on The X Factor USA and the group featured on rapper Pitbull's hit song Wild Wild Love earlier this year.

Girl group's first UK hit after singer Simone Battle dies

The US girl group whose singer Simone Battle died two days ago has had its first chart success in Britain.

G.R.L. debuted on the singles chart at number 11 with Ugly Heart after Simone, who was a contestant on X Factor USA, was found dead in her West Hollywood home.

Simone Battle, from girl group G.R.L, was found dead in Los Angeles on Friday.

The group tweeted a tribute to Simone, insisting they will "carry her memory with us in everything we do".

Simon Cowell said on Twitter: "I am so sad to hear about the news Simone Battle has passed away. She was such a fun nice person. It's such a loss. Rest in peace Simone."

X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini have led tributes to pop singer Simone Battle, a former contestant on the US show, who was found dead yesterday.

Simon Cowell took to Twitter to offer his condolences saying:

It is not yet known how Battle died. Cheryl said it was "such tragically sad news".

Battle found chart success with girl band G.R.L, who formed in 2013 and were billed as the new Pussycat Dolls.

And their new single Ugly Heart was set to enter the top five of the UK's Official Chart this week.

Original Pussycat Doll and former X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger spoke of her devastation at hearing the news and said she was dedicating her performance tonight in South Africa to Battle.

G.R.L. band singer Simone Battle has died aged 25 according to a joint statement from Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records, and RCA Records.

According to reports, Battle was found dead at her home in Los Angeles but the cause of death is not yet known.

Her fellow bandmates Lauren Bennett, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen expressed their sadness on Twitter saying "we will carry her memory in everything we do".

G.R.L. reached number six in the UK charts with Pitbull with their single 'Wild Wild Love'. The group, who were formed in 2013, are also on course to enter the top five of the UK's Official Chart this week with their single Ugly Heart.
