Van Gaal 'not shocked' by MK Dons thrashing
Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal says he is "not shocked" by his side's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of MK Dons in last night's Capital One Cup.
"We made errors in building up situations in the first phase, and when you make errors like that you give the match away," the former Dutch national team coach said.
Van Gaal is without a win in three games as the club's new boss but says building a new team "takes time".
He added that new British record signing Angel Di Maria should improve the team but will need time to "adapt to our culture, our philosophy".
A horrible night for Manchester United
We should stress that Louis van Gaal put out a second string Manchester United 11 this evening, but even so, this was a horrible night for them.
One wonders whether or not Di Maria is actually going to improve this team that much. They possibly need even more players than just Angel Di Maria - I know the manager wants two more before the transfer window shuts at the end of the weekend.
But it is incredible what has happened to this team.

Angel Di Maria 'absolutely delighted' to join Man Utd
Angel Di Maria said he was "absolutely delighted" to be joining Manchester United after his record transfer to the club.

Di Maria completes British record transfer to Man U
Manchester United have broken the British transfer record to sign Argentina winger Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid for £59.7 million.
The 26-year-old passed a medical on Tuesday morning having agreed a long-term contract.
The record signing takes Manchester United's spending past £132 million as they seek an immediate return to the Champions League.
Di Maria made 133 appearances for Real Madrid during his four-year spell, winning the Champions League?, La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
The winger will not be involved in United's League Cup match against MK Dons on Tuesday evening, but could make Louis Van Gaal's squad for Saturday's Premier League game at Burnley.
