Moazzam Begg remanded in custody on Syria terror charges
Gerrie Tahari remanded into custody
Moazzam Begg appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court alongside a woman, Gerrie Tahari, 44, of Ashway, Sparkbrook, Birmingham, who is charged with facilitating terrorism overseas.
She denied the charge and was also remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on March 14 with Begg.

CAGE: Begg terror-linked charge 'politically motivated'
A campaign group has said it is dismayed but not surprised that former Guantanamo Bay detainee Moazzam Begg had been charged with Syria-related terror offences.
Begg had written several times for the organisation. In a statement following the charge, research director of CAGE Asim Qureshi said:

Former Guantanamo Bay detainee Moazzam Begg will appear in court today, charged with Syria-related terror offences.
Begg, 45, of Boden Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, is accused of providing terrorist training and funding terrorism overseas, West Midlands Police said.
He will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court alongside a woman, Gerrie Tahari, 44, of Ashway, Sparkbrook, Birmingham, who is charged with facilitating terrorism overseas.
Both were arrested on Tuesday. Two other men arrested the same day remain in police custody.
Begg was held in the US-run military prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba for nearly three years.
