Jaguar to create 1,700 jobs

Jaguar Land Rover plans to create 1,700 jobs at its plant in Solihull as part of a £1.5bn investment in expanding its product range. The plant will extend its range of aluminium models.

New technology to lead the way for Jaguar Land Rover

Jaguar Land Rover has announced significant investments in advanced aluminium vehicles, which the firm has showcased in a C-X17 Jaguar sports crossover concept vehicle.

He said: "Jaguar Land Rover has been experiencing great success over the last couple of years but this ground-breaking project takes Jaguar on to the next level.

Jaguar jobs boost to extend aluminium model range

Jaguar's £1.5 billion investment at its plant in Solihull will go towards developing technically-advanced aluminium parts for future models.

The first model to show the technology will be a mid-sized sports saloon car, due to be launched in 2015.

Jaguar Land Rover chief executive Dr Ralf Speth announced the investment at the Frankfurt Motor show:

Jaguar announce 1,700 new jobs in Solihull

Jaguar Land Rover is to create 1,700 new jobs in its Solihull factory. The firm will build a new plant on the site to make aluminium body panels and a final assembly line.

The company say the £1.5bn investment into the facility to make aluminium Jaguars will create an addition 24,000 jobs in the supply chain.
