Woolwich suspect Adebolajo still being questioned

One of soldier Lee Rigby's suspected killers has continued to be questioned by police today as protest marches were due to begin around the country.

Michael Adebolajo, who was shot by police, was released from hospital yesterday and taken into custody.

The 28-year-old had already been arrested on suspicion of Drummer Rigby's murder, and yesterday was further arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a police officer.

Michael Adebowale, 22, has already been charged with murdering the young soldier and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday.

Two Woolwich gun suspects bailed by police

Two men who were arrested in connection with the murder of soldier Lee Rigby have been released on bail pending further inquiries, the Metropolitan Police has said.

The men, who are aged 42 and 46, were held on suspicion of being involved in the illegal supply of guns in relation to Drummer Rigby's death.

Woolwich officers make two more arrests

Officers investigating the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich have arrested two men on suspicion of being involved in the supply of illegal firearms.

The Metropolitan Police said:

A 42-year-old man was arrested in north London this morning and a second man, aged 46, was arrested at an address in east London this afternoon.

They have both been taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody.

Woolwich suspect arrested on suspicion of 'attempted murder of police officer'

Police said Woolwich suspect Michael Adebolajo, who was today discharged from hospital, has also been arrested for the attempted murder of a police officer:

A 28-year-old man arrested on 22 May on suspicion of the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich was discharged from hospital this afternoon.

He has been taken into custody at a south London police station.

On arrival at the police station he was further arrested on the suspicion of the attempted murder of a police officer.

He remains in custody and will be interviewed by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Service Counter Terrorism Command.
