Police hunt for mum of dead toddler continues
Police are continuing their hunt to find the mother of a 20-month-old girl who was found dead at her home as searches at the property end.
The body 20-month-old Sarah Dahane was found in a house in Bicester in Oxfordshire. Her mother, who has not been named by police, is believed to have left the UK and travelled to Kenya, according to Thames Valley Police. Detective chief inspector Ian Hunter said:
Father's tribute to 'beautiful Sarah'
The father of 20-month-old Sarah Dahane has paid tribute to his beloved daughter. Nabil Dahane made his statement through Thames Valley Police.
He said: "To my uniquely beautiful Sarah: You have meant the world to me. The time spent with you, though cut very short, was an absolute joy and the sweet memories we made together will stay with me for as long as I live.
"May you rest in peace babe and I will surely see you in heaven."
Child found in house is named
A child found dead at a house in Oxfordshire has been identified by police. Sarah Dahane, who was 20 months old, was found by officers in Bicester. It is believed her mother has left the UK and travelled to Kenya.
Thames Valley Police said a post-mortem examination has been carried out on Sarah, who was formally identified by her father, but the cause of death remains unexplained and further tests are due to take place.
Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Ian Hunter said: "Whilst the circumstances of Sarah's death remain unexplained, we are carrying out a detailed and thorough investigation to establish exactly how and why she died."
International search for missing mum
Thames Valley Police are continuing the search for the mother of a young child found dead at a house in Oxfordshire. They believe Sarah Dahane's mother has now gone to Kenya.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Hunter, who is the investigating officer, said: "We are supporting Sarah's father, who is separated from her mother, with dedicated family liaison officers.
"It would appear Sarah's mother left the UK at some stage during Wednesday evening.
"While we are working with those individuals and authorities that were in contact with both Sarah and her mother prior to her death, we urgently wish to speak to Sarah's mother to better understand exactly what has happened. We strongly urge her to present herself to the authorities."

Mother believed to have left UK
Police have said tonight that the mother of the two year old girl whose body was found at a house in Oxfordshire is understood to have left the country. Officers were called to an address on Herald Way in Bicester after receiving a report concerning the welfare of the child.
Tonight the body was taken away. Police are still trying to trace the mother and speak to her. Formal identification is yet to take place.

The body of a two-year-old child has been found at a home in Oxfordshire.
Police arrived at the address in Bicester at around 10am this morning, following a call from someone saying they feared for a child's welfare.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said the death is being treated as "unexplained".
