Peter Wilson presented with gold medal

The sun shone as Peter Wilson was presented with a gold medal for shooting. The stand was packed by his relatives who said they were delighted to watch his win. His cousin Robbie Wilson said:

Just the mental concentration and focus that he showed (to win) was unbelievable. I am incredibly proud. It was a fantastic effort.

Thankfully for us the suffering is over. It has just been such a rollercoaster. It was a fantastic effort.

Another cousin, David Wilson, said his heart was thumping the whole way through the final.

It was an absolute privilege to be here to watch a member of my family shoot in the Olympic Games and to get the gold medal on his first try. I had that classic thing right up to the finish where my heart was thumping all the way, right up until I knew that he had won.
