Zimmerman's wife arrested

Seminole County Sheriff's deputies arrested Shellie Zimmerman, who is 25, at her home and took her to the same jail where her husband is being held on a second-degree murder charge.

Shellie's bond was set at $1,000 and she was in the process of posting it on Tuesday afternoon, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

In court documents it states Shellie Zimmerman has been arrested on suspicion of making a false statement under oath during a bond hearing relating to her husband George.

The Florida State Attorney's office has announced the wife of George Zimmerman - the defendant in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin - has been arrested on suspicion of perjury.

George Zimmerman's wife Shellie has been arrested on suspicion of one count of perjury.

Her husband stands accused of second-degree murder after shooting the unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin dead, in what he says was self-defence, after claiming he had been attacked.
