Premier League footballer Joey Barton was arrested today on suspicion of affray after an altercation outside a nightclub in Liverpool, Press Association sources said.
Earlier two 21-year-old men were arrested for public order offences outside Garlands nightclub in Liverpool.
Mr Barton had tweeted that he'd been "sucker punched in the back of the head" but said he would not be pressing charges.
