Daniel Bartlam attacked Jacqueline at their home before burning her body.

Statement on behalf of murdered mother's parents
A statement has been read on behalf of the parents of Jacqueline Bartlam, whose teenage son has been jailed for her murder.
Jacqueline "was a wonderful, loving and caring woman," it says. "She was a determined woman who worked hard to become successful."
Murderer was keen YouTube user
The teenager's activity on video file sharing site YouTube showed that he watched clips from various soaps and the horror film Saw.
In one video he posted featuring himself, he was excited about a new computer.

Murdered mother identified only by dental records
Jacqueline Bartlam could be identified only by dental records, after her body was recovered from the blaze on April 25 last year.
The court heard how her son, Daniel Bartlam, had been inspired to carry out the killing by a plot in Coronation Street, where one of the characters John Stape, had killed a woman with a hammer.
Bartlam had claimed the killing was not murder because he had lost self-control.

The court heard how Daniel Bartlam hit his mother seven times with a claw hammer at their home in Georgia Drive, Redhill, Nottingham.
He then poured petrol around her bedroom before lighting newspaper on a gas fire and setting the property alight.

Today the judge at Nottingham Crown Court lifted reporting restrictions allowing the media to name the teenager, who the court heard had been inspired to carry out the murder by a plot in ITV soap Coronation Street.
