Hastings Pier crowned UK's best new building
It dates from the nineteenth century but Hastings Pier has been crowned the UK's best new building.
It was rebuilt after a devastating fire seven years ago.
Now it's scooped the coveted Stirling Prize, awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects.
It will boost the pier's profile as it seeks to book major bands and attract multi-million pound corporate sponsorship.
John Ryall spoke to Maria Ludkin from the Hastings Pier Charity and Alex de Rijke from architects DRMM.
