Wedding evacuated during Brighton bomb scare
- Watch Sam Holder report from Brighton
More than 200 wedding guests were forced to evacuate a hotel in Brighton last night due to a bomb hoax.
Bride-to-be Gaby Rosehill had just finished walking down the aisle at The Grand Hotel when the fire alarms started ringing.
Little did she know that an anonymous caller had told police there was an explosive device in the building.
The wedding party was led onto the blustery Brighton seafront before being sheltered by the neighbouring Hilton Metropole, where they held an impromptu ceremony.
The Grand Hotel was cordoned off for five hours while police and bomb disposal experts conducted a thorough sweep of the area.
No suspicious devices were found and officers say they are trying to track the anonymous caller.
