Police name man found dead in a car park

Police have named a man whose body was found in a car park in Tunbridge Wells.

Giles Metcalfe was 43 years old and from the local area. His body was found in a stairwell on the first floor of the Torrington Road car park during the early hours of Tuesday 7th March.

Provisional post-mortem results indicate he died as a result of the effects of a fire.

Dean Lewis, aged 34 and of no fixed address has been charged with Mr Metcalfe's murder and has appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court, where he has been remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on 13th March.
