Appeal for 'Good Samaritan' who saved family from fire

Wiltshire Police would also like to speak to anyone who filmed the fire which has appeared on some media outlets.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for a "good Samaritan" to come forward after helping to rescue a family from a burning house in Swindon.

A house in Manchester Road caught alight around midnight on Sunday 6th November.

Four people - including a 16-month-old baby - are in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

During the initial stages of the fire, a man using an ATM opposite the house ran over and helped a member of the family break down the front door and carry out some of the injured.

He then left the scene as the emergency services arrived.

"We would like to speak to this man who helped with the rescue; he was extremely brave in his actions. "It's part of our investigation in to this tragic fire and speaking to him would help us with our enquiries. "We'd also like to speak to anyone who may have filmed the fire during its height on that Sunday night."
