A man remains in a serious condition in hospital after being mauled by a pack of up to five dogs, believed to be bull mastiffs.

Armed officers were called to the house in Westerham early this morning.

A neighbour posted pictures on Twitter of the unfolding police operation, which is now at an end.

The RSPCA have confirmed their officers were called in to sedate the animals and help remove them from the property.

The road was closed between London Road and Hosey Hill, but reopened at 3.15pm.

An inquiry's been launched to establish what happened. It's not yet known what will happen to the dogs.
