Storm Imogen batters the region

Storm Imogen is bringing high winds and torrential rain to the South, South East and Thames Valley. Drivers, ferry services, flights and rail passengers are all being affected. It could bring floods, and the Met Office has issued amber warnings of wind for much of the South West. There is a yellow warning stretching from southern Wales to the Thames Estuary as the storm sweeps in from the English Channel.

Brighton takes a hammering from Storm Imogen

Storm Imogen is continuing to cause disruption in the South.

Drivers are being urged to check the weather and driving conditions before setting out.

They are being asked to pay particular attention to exposed locations such as coastal and high-lying areas, and bridges which could be affected by the high winds.
