Plane crashes on Isle of Wight

A light plane has crashed near Sandown Airport on the Isle of Wight.

Only the pilot was on board at the time of the crash. The condition of the pilot is unknown at this time, but police are reporting that nobody has died.

Hampshire Constabulary were called out at 10.26am and are still on the scene.

Sandown Airport is expected to be closed for a significant period of time.
