Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a fire at the All Saints Church on Church Road, Fleet.
Officers attended the scene of the fire at just before 6pm on Monday after being notified by colleagues from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Areas around the church were sealed off while fire crews worked to put out the flames and examine damage to the building.
There were no reports of any injuries and officers are investigating whether the fire is linked to any similar reports.
Sergeant Rob Wallis from Fleet Neighbour Policing Team said: “The fire has completely destroyed the church and has understandably caused concern within the local community.
“Our officers are in the area providing reassurance to local churches and the community.”
A 17 year-old from Fleet has been arrested on suspicion of arson and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
