Rehman Chishti tightens his grip on Gillingham and Rainham

Conservative Rehman Chisti has tightened his grip on the seat of Gillingham and Rainham with a 1.8% increase in his share of the vote.

Mr Chisti pushed Labour into second place, with former MP Paul Clark managing to poll just 12,060 votes - compared with 22,590 picked up by the Tories.

UKIP finished in third place but picked up more than 9,000 votes.
