Call of the sea helps the blind

Video. Researchers at the University of Southampton have been conducting a series of experiments to find out whether the same methods used by dolphins and bats could help blind people to see.

The team have been using both blind and sighted volunteers to see how well they can pinpoint sounds through locating their echo. Mel Bloor reports.
