Statement from the Heritage company after coach fire: "We can confirm that unfortunately today one of our coaches suffered from an engine fire. Our vehicle was travelling from Storrington and was on route to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.
The coach stopped on the A29 Bury Hill near to the White ways Lodge Roundabout. Our driver instigated the evacuation of our passengers safely as per our company training policy into the close by White Ways Cafe. The emergency services were contacted whilst our driver tackled the fire.
Our driver carried out his duties as you would expect. Initial reports indicate today's fire was caused by an electrical fault. There will be a full investigation. We sincerely apologise to our passengers and their families.
