Olympic Torch in Hampshire
The Olympic Torch will reach Hampshire for the first time today when it tours through Basingstoke, Kings Worthy, Winchester and Andover.
Two Torches: Flames from 1948 and 2012 Olympics
Torches which were carried through Basingstoke 64 years apart were reunited today. The 1948 torch which was held by Bill Plester in 1948 through the streets of Basingstoke, was brought to the Hampshire town today to be held by 2012 torchbearer and 100m runner Oliver Leonard.
