Police have reopened De La Warr Road in Bexhill after an accident between a lorry and a cyclist.
The accident happened just after 7 o'clock this morning. The seriously injured cyclist was airlifted to hospital in London.
The lorry did not stop at the scene but was stopped a short time later in Eastbourne. A 60-year-old man from Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and is in custody. Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
