A murder inquiry has been launched in Sussex after the death of a 17-year-old who was stabbed in Hastings.
Police have formally named a 17 year old boy who was stabbed to death in Hastings on Thursday. A post mortem revealed that Jacob Woudstra, of Mount Pleasant Road, Hastings died from a single stab wound to the chest. Two men arrested on suspicion of murder remain in police custody.
"The local community - and in particular those who knew Jacob - remain in shock by this tragedy and our thoughts are with them all at this very difficult time. I would like to stress that this is not a random attack and the wider community are not at risk. The attack appears to have followed a dispute in the public house between individuals that knew each other.... This type of crime is extremely uncommon and we do not want people to be unduly alarmed - Hastings remains a safe place to live, work and study.
