Thames Valley hotter than Greece
Hotter than Greece and Turkey - the Thames Valley roasted today on the hottest day of the year, with record temperatures for September.
It was so hot, in fact, that health officials issued safety warnings for the young, the old and the unwell. The warmest place in the region was Heathrow - which reached a sweltering 32.8 degrees. Cary Johnston has more.

A temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius has been recorded in Gravesend. That makes it the hottest September day since 1911.

So hot, in fact, that health officials issued safety warnings for the young, the old and the unwell.
At Gravesend in Kent the mercury reached 34.4 degrees - the hottest September day since 1911 and the hottest day of the year in 2016.
And those who could, flocked to beaches and parks to savour the Indian Summer, as Malcolm Shaw now reports.
