Road users in the Banbury area are advised that lanes 1 and 2 on the northbound M40 are closed between junctions 11 and 12 following a fatal crash earlier.
Emergency services are currently on the scene. The lanes will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so, but this may not be until the evening rush hour.
Long delays are expected while we work to reopen to road fully. Drivers planning to use this section of the M40 are advised to avoid the area if at all possible, or plan their journeys and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
