Three victims died from multiple stab wounds

The post mortem examinations of the three people killed in Vicarage Road, Didcot on Saturday have now taken place.

The cause of death for Philip Howard, 44, Janet Jordon, 48, and Derin Jordon, aged six, was found to be multiple stab wounds.

Formal identification of Derin Jordon is yet to take place. Police are satisfied that the body found in Vicarage Road on Saturday is that of Derin Jordon.

Tributes to little girl murdered in Didcot

It's a case which has shocked the country. And tonight Police are still trying to find out why a man killed his mother, her partner and his young sister in Didcot in Oxfordshire.

Janet Jordon, her six year-old daughter Derin and her partner Philip Howard who was 44 were found in their home in Vicarage Road on Saturday night. They'd all been stabbed to death.

A major manhunt was launched for Janet's son - 21-year-old Jed Allen. His body was found in a wooded area at Marston Ferry Road in Oxford yesterday afternoon.

Meanwhile tribute continue to pour in for six year old Derin as Kate Bunkall reports.

And what of Jed Allen the tortured son and brother who murdered his family He's said to have phoned and texted friends before he died saying he'd 'done something bad.'

In widespread use of social media he profiled himself as a knife wielding fan of superheroes, a bodybuilder who brandished weapons who was gripped by uncontrollable rages. At the same time a man who deeply loved his mother.

Police statement on discovery of body

"Just before 5 o'clock this evening members of the public reported finding the body of a man in a wooded area in Marston Road. This is an area that had not been previously searched by police. Whilst no formal identification has taken place I am satisfied this is the body of Jed Allen. Whilst the investigation into this murder will continue I am not seeking anyone else in relation to this offence. Members of all the victims' families have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers. I would like to offer my condolences to all the family of the victims in this tragic case."

Thames Valley Police say a body believed to be triple murder suspect Jed Allen has been found in the Oxford area,

The 21-year-old's body was recovered from Marston Road in the city, barely a mile from Oxford University Parks where the manhunt had centered.

Jed Allen was wanted in connection with the deaths of three members of his family on Saturday night.

His half-sister Derin, aged six years, his mother Janet Jordan, aged 48 years, and her boyfriend Philip Howard, aged 44 years, were found stabbed to death in a home in Didcot, Oxon.

Murder weapon found as police continue hunt for triple-killer

Armed police officers are scouring Didcot, Oxfordshire, and its surrounding areas, after the bodies of Philip Howard, 44, Janet Jordon, 48, and daughter Derin were discovered in a house in Vicarage Road just after 8.20pm on Saturday, following a call from a member of the public.

More than 100 officers are also searching Oxford University Parks where Allen worked as a groundsman.

Police also revealed they have found what they believe is the murder weapon at the crime scene.

Detective Superintendent Chris Ward, the head of Thames Valley Police's major crime unit, said they believe Jed arrived in Oxford by train from Didcot at 5.45pm on Saturday.

Det Supt Ward said: "Jed is wearing a red or maroon shirt, a dark hooded jacket with a white trim on the zip, blue jeans and black shoes.

"After visiting WH Smith, we believe that Jed then walked to Oxford University Parks."

Flowers have been laid outside the All Saints Primary School in Didcot in memory of 6-year old Derrin Jordon.

The body of Derrin was found at house in Didcot on Saturday. The bodies of her mother Janet Jordan and her partner Philip Howard were also discovered at the property.

Thames Valley Police have released pictures of two of the victims of a triple murder in Didcot.

Derrin Jordan, aged six, and her mother Janet, 48, were found in their home in Didcot along with Janet's partner Philip Howard, 44.

Janet (known as Jan), Philip (known as Phil) and their daughter were found in their home in Vicarage Road last night.

The post mortems are due to take place tomorrow but early indications are that all three of the victims sustained knife wounds which are believed to be the cause of death.

Earlier today, police released an image of Jed Allen, aged 21, who is wanted in connection with the family’s deaths.

Within the last hour, Thames Valley Police have named the three people murdered in Didcot as Jan Jordon, Philip Howard and six-year-old Derin Jordon.

Det Supt Chris Ward said the most likely cause of the deaths of the trio - whose bodies were found in their home in Vicarage Road just before 8.30pm yesterday - was stabbing.

Police continue to hunt for 21 year old Jed Allen, who was known to both the victims and police.
